Aims:

The aims of this theme are:

• Practice reading skills;
• Practice writing skills;
• Learn new literary term
• Read and understand youth literature
• Apply literary terms across different media
  

Assessment:

1: A written review of the musical The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.  

300-350 words 

Needs to be written as a review (i.e. your opinion needs to be present and well phrased)

Needs to be properly spell checked and feedback given by peer reviewer needs to be incorporated.

2. Reading test

Will take place during finals 

Semi-final reading test in week 5, lesson 1

Materials for studying for the test: The book, lesson materials and your reading journal.

You can bring: a dictionary, the book (paper version only NO printouts!) 

Requirements/Practical info:

• You need to buy the book: A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon.
• You need to bring the book to every class and keep up with the reading
• We will visit the musical: a curious incident with the dog in the night time!
