  • Kings ruled Rome. But they were helped by the senate. But the last king, Superbus, was kicked out of Rome because he was hated so much.
  • Rich families delivered people for the senate. In the senate laws were being passed. Two consuls were the leaders of the senate.
  • Ceasar was a general who took all the power in Rome, and became a dictator. He was killed in 44BC, but his adoptive son August, became the first emperor.
