When do you use it?

Past simple: iets is in het verleden gebeurd en al afgelopen

Present perfect: iets is in het verleden begonnen en gaat nu nog steeds door of is nog steeds belangrijk.

How do you form the past simple & the present perfect?

Signal words

Aan signaalwoorden kun je vaak zien welke tijdsvorm je moet gebruiken.

Past simple: in 2018, yesterday, last weekend, two hours ago, at 3 o'clock, this morning, etc.

Present perfect: for, yet, never, ever, just, already, since

(Ezelsbruggetje = fyne jas)
