Je gebruikt deze vorm om te zeggen wat er op dit moment aan de gang is of wat iemand nu aan het doen is.

Uitzondering 1 

Woorden die eindigen op een sisklank (-s/-z/-x/-ch/-sh) krijgen -es in plaats van -s:

Als een woord eindigt op een medeklinker + -y, dan verandert -y in -ies.

Onregelmatige meervoud

Er zijn ook woorden die in het meervoud een andere vorm krijgen (uit je hoofd leren):

man - men                                                 woman - women

foot - feet                                                   tooth - teeth

Altijd meervoud

Woorden voor brillen, broeken en scharen staan altijd in het meervoud. Ze horen voorafgegaan te worden door pair(s) of. In het enkelvoud gebruik je a pair of in plaats van het lidwoord a.
