Skimming: you use this technique to quickly look over a text. You will read keywords and phrases, look at the pictures. All of these words and pictures will tell you something about the text

Skimming: you use this technique to quickly look over a text. You will read keywords and phrases (deelzinnen), look at the pictures. All of these words and pictures will tell you something about the text

Scanning: You use the scanning technique to search for specific information (specifieke informatie).
Example: What is the name of the main character in the book?
Answer: Sarah (you'll scan for a name).
