  5. She doesn't like eating vegetables, does she?
  6. They aren't supposed to be doing that, are they?

Tag questions
  • A tag question is a short question at the end of a sentence
  • We do it to check something we're almost certain of
  • Often means: “toch?”, “hè”, “is het niet?”, of “of wel?”

How to make
  1. Bepaal of de zin positief of negatief is 
  2. Gebruik de andere voor de tag question
  3. Vaak: herhaal het werkwoord
  4. Maak van het onderwerp een pronoun (he, she, it etc.)
We herhalen de volgende werkwoorden:
1) to be
2) to do
3) to have

  • I’m a fast runner, aren’t I?
  • You are her younger sister, aren’t you?
  • Susan is her sister, isn’t she?
  • Pete and Jane are good friends, aren’t they?
  • I am not a bad friend, am I?
  • You're not a very good football player, are you?
  • He isn't very funny, is he?
  • We are not that close, are we

  • Let op met "I"!

Pronouns, not names
  • In tag questions we do not use names!

  1. Baseball is a very popular sport, isn't it?
  2. Ron is not very nice, is he?
  3.  Jake and Amy are wonderful people, aren't they?
  4. Walter and Jesse aren't related, are they?
