Welcome to the lesson!

Today, I will mainly be giving you information on how we're going to do biology during the Corona isolation-period. Next to that, you will get some homework.

Lesson goals

• You know what to expect from biology lessons during the next few weeks
• You know how to get to lessons, assignments and homework for biology during the next few weeks
• You prepare for the formative test

Biology during corona

• As explained in my message on SomToday, most of the lessons will be provided to you via LessonUp
• This means that you can work through each lesson in your own pace
• Between the lessons you will receive homework
• After some lessons, I will ask you to hand something in. When I do that, I will tell you in the LessonUp, as well as in the homework section on SomToday.

Biology during corona

• If you want to do the lesson at another time, that is allowed only if you do it before the actual lesson. This way, you can still ask questions if you have them.
• I will note attendance of each lesson (I can see who went through the lesson and what answers they gave). It doesn't matter to me when you do the lesson, as long as you do it.
• Take it at your own pace, but try to make sure you have everything done and completed. This will save a lot of time for when we get back to school!

In the next slides I will show you how to get to the places you need!

HOMEWORK

You can find it where it always is, in SomToday. If there is nothing there, you don't have homework! I will also announce the homework in the LessonUp of the lesson before. Finish the homework before you start the next biology lesson.

• You can do it before the lesson itself if you want to start early.

ASSIGNMENTS

• After the lesson, I will sometimes give you an assignment
• This will be something like: make a summary, show me the notes you took, show me your homework is finished, etc...
• This means that you have to hand something in on SomToday. If you work in your notebook, a picture is enough

ASSIGNMENTS

• In SomToday, I will open an 'inleveropdracht', in which you can upload the file (you can upload only one file, so if you have more than one picture, you have to copy and paste them in a word document and upload that!)
• On the next slide, I will show you what it would look like on your phone and laptop (with an example of 2TTO)
• The 'inleveropdracht' has a deadline, which I will tell you beforehand. After the deadline, it disappears and you cannot hand it in anymore.
• Please note: uploading files only works via a laptop or computer, and not on your phone

• Formative test next lesson

• During the lessons before the school closed, I promised you that we would do a formative test to practice
• We will still do this test, but a little bit differently
• Next lesson, you will receive a link to a page where you can take the test
• I will be able to see your answers, so I can give you feedback on how you did
• This helps you to practice how to do biology tests
• This formative test will be about Chapter 1 (completely), and will take about 10-15 minutes

What can you do now?

• Go through SomToday and see if you can find all the places I just explained. I have uploaded 'fake' homework and 'assignments' so you should be able to see them
• Make sure all your work is complete (all assignments, all notes)
• Read through the next slides again, in which I explained how to prepare for a test
• The assignment for next lesson is easy: check all the exercises you have made for Chapter 1. You can find the file with answers in SomToday.
• Next to that: prepare for the small formative test in any way you want

To recap:

• Go through SomToday and see if you can find all the places I explained in this lesson. The 'inleveropdracht' might not be visible yet, since you don't have one.
• Use the rest of this lesson to prepare for the formative test next lesson
