1.4 TEGENWOORDIGE TIJD: PRESENT SIMPLE

Je gebruikt de present simple als iets altijd, nooit of regelmatig gebeurt. In de zin staan dan vaak woorden als: always, never,often, usually, regularly, sometimes.

I always eat breakfast.

She usually obeys the rules.

We never go to school by bike.

Negative

I/ you/ we/ they --> don't (do not) + infinitive

He/ she/ it --> doesn't (does not) + infinitive

She doesn't like to play football

3rd person singular form:

He, she and it --> add an -s to the infinitive 

She loves cookies

Verbs ending in consonant + y --> ies

cry --> cries

Words ending in:

-o --> -oes (potato - potatoes)

-s / -z / -x / -ch / -sh --> add -es 

(watch - watches, kiss - kisses)
