Migration

What is 'migration'?

When people (or a large group of people) move to a different country.

Why do people migrate?

What would make you leave your home country?

What would be important to have in the country you move to?

Homework 05-10

We are going to explore our own family histories to see if there

are examples of migration or flight in the past.  

Ask as many family members as possible:

1. Find out where they came from and how they travelled to where they are now.
2. Ask how and who supported them when they first arrived? Were they

welcome everywhere or were they rejected?

3. Write this all down and bring it to class next week.
