Your Mediafile contains assignments on:

1. Articles

2.Black Mirror/Nosedive

3. Southpark/Scientology

4. Song lyrics

5. Bunker diary

6. Movie review

Speaking exam part 1

You will get questions about your Mediafile, like for example:

1. Articles: "Why did you choose article X?"

2.Black Mirror/Nosedive: "What did you learn from this?"

3. Southpark/Scientology: "What is Southpark trying to say?"

4. Song lyrics: "Can you explain what this song is about? "

5. Bunker diary: "Can you describe a scene in the book?"

6. Movie review: "What is the best part of your movie?"

Assignment

1. Write at least 2 questions for each of the previous categories

2. Write full English questions, that cannot be just answered with yes/no!

You have 15 minutes and you work alone.

Done early? Write as many general questions about the Mediafile as you can!

Skimming

- Now we will practice our "skimming" skills on these articles

- first of all...what is skimming?

Skimming =

to quickly go through a text to get a general overview of the text.

So don't:

- try to understand every word and sentence

- read every sentence

What will we do?

- I will give each student an article

- You will skim (quickly read) your article for 3 minutes and make notes about what you understand from it.

- After this you will need to make a short presentation about your article.

Present your article!

- Now present your article to your neighbour next to you.

- You have 1 minute.
