Look at the difference

I have a book

That is my book            Where is the word book in this example?

That book is mine       after "my" and before "mine"

Sophie has a guinea pig

The guinea pig is hers       Look at the word guinea pig

It is her guinea pig.            What do you notice?

Write down a noun to use with possessive adjectives. (my, your, his,her,its,our their).
Example: My rabbit, their house.

Take the word you used in the last slide and use the possessive pronoun. (Mine, yours, his, hers,ours, theirs.)
Example: The rabbit is mine. The house is theirs.
