Question Tags

Grammar is cool, isn't it?

Hierboven zie je een voorbeeld van een question tag. 

Een question tag is de korte vraag aan het einde van de zin. 

Je vraagt eigenlijk: 'klopt dat?'  

In het Nederlands gebruik je dan: 'vind je niet?', 'toch?'

 In het Engels is er een regel voor het maken van deze  

question tags.

Hoe maak je een question tag? 

De regel: 

 

Na een bevestigende zin (+) is de tag ontkennend (-) 

Na een ontkennende zin (-) is de tag bevestigend (+)

Examples

They are working hard, aren't they?  

You can speak English, can't you? 

We need to study this for the test, don't we?  

I am walking, aren't I? 

She sings in that pop group, doesn't she? 

He went to the gym, didn't he?
