Can be described in 4 ways:
1. will + verb
2. to be + going to + verb
3. present continuous
4. present simple

1. Future simple = will + verb
- offer something (e.g. help)
- promises
- announcements
- decisions
- predictions without proof (also the weather)

I will help you later today.

1. Future simple
offer something: We will help you with the dishes.
promises: I promise I will call Patrick tomorrow.
announcement: The concert won't start in a few minutes.
decisions: I won't go to football practice today.
predictions without proof: I will buy a sportscar when I have a job.

2. Future continuous = to be + going to + verb
am/are/is + going to + verb
you use a conjugation of to be, not 'to be' in a sentence.
So I am, you are, etc.

Use:
- someone is planning something in the future
- a prediction with proof

Use:

Appointments in the future. The time and place are set.


We are flying to Italy on Monday.

Use:

Times that are set through a set schedule that is going to happen in the future. 

E.g. opening times, arrivals and departures

The train arrives at 5.15 pm.
The plane leaves at 6 am.
The baker's opens at 8 am.
The school closes at 5 pm.

This includes public transport and buildings.
