Wat voor woorden zijn dit?
Bijvoegelijke naamwoorden en bijwoorden
= Adjectives and Adverbs

Slide 16 - Diapositive

Adjectives
Een bijvoeglijk naamwoord, in het Engels adjective genaamd, omschrijft een zelfstandig naamwoord en staat ook meestal voor het zelfstandig naamwoord.

Enkele voorbeelden:
A nice house
A sharp knife
A cold winter
A fast car
A famous celebrity

Slide 17 - Diapositive

Adjectives
Een adjective kan ook achter een linking word staan ; to be, to look, to appear, to seem

Slide 18 - Diapositive

Adjectives = bijv nw
Een bijvoeglijk naamwoord gebruik je om iets of iemand

Slide 19 - Diapositive

Adverbs
Bijwoorden geven eigenlijk meer informatie over een ander woord. Soms geven ze aan hoe vaak iets gebeurt (bv. never), waar iemand is (bv. outside), op welke manier iets gebeurt (bv. quickly) etc.
De meeste adverbs vertrekken van een bijvoeglijk naamwoord en voegen daar -ly aan toe:
beautiful + -ly = He danced beautifully.
quick + -ly = Quicksilver ran quickly.
DEZE STAAN MEESTAL ACHTER HET WERKWOORD

Slide 20 - Diapositive

Adverb = bijwoord
Een bijwoord gebruik je om aan te geven HOE iemand iets doet. Een bijwoord omschrijft vaak een werkwoord, maar ook een ander bijwoord, een bijvoeglijk naamwoord of de hele zin.
                                                                                    Mary sings wonderfully.
                                                     My grandparents talk incredibly loudly.
