1. Bijwoorden die aangeven HOE iets gebeurt, staan meestal ná het werkwoord dat ze beschrijven, aan het eind van de zin.                                            e.g.  Henry left the shop quietly. 
2. Bijwoorden die iets zeggen over een bijvoegelijknaamwoord, staan vóór het bijvoegelijknaamwoord                                                                                                      e.g. Service was extremely slow  (slow zegt wat over Service =bijvnw

            

 

Adverbs of frequency

Bijwoorden die aangeven hoe vaak iets voorkomt zoals always/never/usually/often komen:

- voor het hoofdwerkwoord:  I always walk to school. 

- na een vorm van to be: We are usually on time.
