The Eastern Front

• Two Front War 
• Initial succes for the Russians
• Russians were eventually driven back by the Germans
• Cost of the war became to great for Russia
• Russia signed peace treaty with German Empire (1918)

Eastern Front compared to Western Front

Eastern Front:

battles on a large area , large movements, less advanced weaponry, longer supply lines, shifting frontline

Western Front:

Trench warfare, no large movements, advanced weaponry, shorter supply lines, stationary (stuck) frontline
