• lots of      -> both countable & uncountable nouns

Weing

few  --> only countable nouns

little --> only uncountable nouns

a few =  een paar --> only countable nouns

a little =  een beetje --> only uncountable nouns

A noun is countable when:

• you can count it or
• it has a plural form or
• you can put a/an before the word

examples

I don't have much time today. 

He didn't have many friends when he was little. 

After my shopping trip, I had little money left. 

There are few honest politicians.
