3.3.3 In the trenches
People were very enthousiastic about the war; Full of courage and faith that it would end quickly. (What term can you put next to this?)

The war came to a stop in parts of BE and FR. Armies began to dig themselves in >> trenches, sometimes for miles.

Life in a trech was hard because of violence and the cold and the humidity. (rotten feet!!!)
