Introduction: Short summary about your experiment.

Research question: What are you going to research? choose variable.

Hypotheses: What you think the answer will be of your research question.

Materials + Method: What do you need and what are the steps of your experiment.

Results: What are the results -> Graph/table

Conclusion: The answer to your question.

Watercress experiment
You are going to do your own research on the growth of watercress. You can choose the variable yourself. 
For example:
-sunlight, 
-nutrition,
-temperature

Over the next 7 days you will do this experiment at home and practice making a research report.

Example:
I think cola will make the watercress grow faster because cola contains a lot of sugar. Plants need sugar to grow.

Step 1: introduction

  • Finish answering the questions in red using your book/internet. (in your own words!)

  • When all questions are answered write a short paragraph about the information. (goed lopend verhaal) + add what you are going to research.

Mixed up method. Put the steps in the right order!
1. Put the trays in a good spot for your research somewhere in your house.   
2. Put 1 piece of paper towel in one of the trays. Put the other piece of paper in the other tray.   
3. Check every day if the seeds already germinated (ontkiemen). Measure the length of the shoot. 4. Put the measurements (metingen) in the Results table. Also make sure that the seeds have enough moisture (vocht)  
5. Have all your materials ready.   
6. Make a graph of your results.  
7. Make the pieces of paper wet, so they are drenched with water.   
8. Lay 5 seeds of garden cress in each tray above the paper towel.

Step 5: Method

Wat moet je thuis doen!
Zo voer je thuis het onderzoek uit (doe dit zo snel mogelijk!) 

  • Zet je experiment in volgens de stappen uit de methode --> document. 
  • Zorg dat je 2 schaaltjes hebt met zaadjes. 1 controle en 1 experiment (andere variabele). 
  • Meet 1x per dag hoeveel de kiem is gegroeid. Houdt de dag en meting bij Results in het document.
  • Zorg dat de zaadjes vochtig blijven. Elke dag checken!
  • Volgende week gaan wij naar de resultaten kijken en verwerken.
