Slide 8 - Quiz

The news article...
A mountain rescue team used a ski tow to bunny-hop up a hill to carry out the "unique" rescue of an injured woman.

The hillwalker broke her ankle after slipping on Caerketton Hill in the Pentland Hills, on the outskirts of Edinburgh, at about 17:45 on Sunday.
The incident took place above the Midlothian Snowsports Centre, so Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team used one of the ski tows to get up the hill.
Then they made a sledge to get the woman back down the dry ski slope.
Dave Wright, the rescue team's incident manager, told BBC Scotland they had improvised the move in order to rescue the woman. "The ski centre said it was quite difficult to master the bunny-hop if you have never done it before," he said.
"The tow pulls you up in jerking motions and without skis you are pulled into the air."

Practise Exam Text
What is the point made about tiny house owners in paragraph 2?
A They failed to settle down in the way society expects of them.
B They have their own reasons for choosing to live as they do.
C They share a passion for living an environmental-friendly lifestyle.
D They suffered a financial loss that forced them to downsize

Slide 13 - Diapositive

Tiny Living
2 Each tiny home tells a story about its owner(s) – how it was built, where it
has traveled, and what purpose it serves. Mario lost his house in the 2008
recession, and when it came time for him to buy a new house after paying
off his debts, he looked for an alternative. He built his house completely
on his own, and included features like saltwater batteries, wireless lights,
a skylight, air conditioning, and a wireless door. Going green wasn’t his
motivation, but that lifestyle fit well with tiny living. Jenna and Guillaume
didn’t want the burden of a mortgage and debt, so they quit their 9-5 jobs
for a tiny-house lifestyle. Alexis and Christian always loved the concept of
outdoor living.
* Welke redenen worden hier gegeven? Lijken die op elkaar of verschillen ze?

Slide 14 - Diapositive

TIP!
Als je een meerkeuzevraag hebt... probeer dan eerst (zonder dat je alvast naar de mogelijkheden kijkt), de vraag te beantwoorden in je hoofd. Kijk dan welk antwoord het meest lijkt op jouw antwoord.... (twee zijn onzin, één lijkt op het antwoord, één is het antwoord);
