Little History...

First plays > Greece (5th century B.C.)

But since then the emphasis on a script has become less important. Other elements like actors physical movements, the surrounding space and costumes are equally important now.

5 GENRES

We are going to discuss five theatre genres common in Western theatre today.

Classical Theatre

Originate from a script written by a playwrite.

Xenophobia= 

Fear or hatred of foreigners, people of different cultures, strangers

Physical Theater

Theatre based on the actors physical abilities. 

They use the body's power of expression 

to tell a story, often without speaking

Site-Specific Theater

Productions inspired by a particular location.

The location is often decisive for the production.

Music Theater

Theatre in which music plays a major role, 

for instance in an opera of musical.

Cabaret

Mainly consists of humorous stories,

that often contain a moral or comment on social events.

It can be an existing play or your own phantasy.

Also create actors through optical illusion ( paper, clay or print) and take photos of the result.
