Will vs. Shall

Shall = old English and very formal

Still used when making an offer

Negative form: shall not OR shan't

Example: Shall I make some lunch? (offer)

Example: We shall overcome (formal)

Going to future

Used for plans, intentions, and for predictions.​

• They are going to move to Manchester.
• Is she going to buy a new car?
• Be careful! You are going to fall.
