ABSOLUTELY! Great portions of the lessons will be focused on improving the work you prepared for the lesson and asking questions based on it. None of this is possible if you have no work prepared.

Can I make a summary by copying and pasting from the original text?

Summary

A summary is always in your own words: it must be a smooth, coherent text

Can I use contractions in formal English?

contraction: I'm, can't, etc.

1. No, I cannot
2. Yes, I can

Contractions

Contractions are not acceptable in formal writing.

Note: in journalistic writing it is!

Please do the assignments on the hand-out.

Homework

1. Complete the assignments in Module Business English for week 1

2. Define which country you are going to reasearch for your exam.

3. Find two articles on this topic, and bring them to class - you do not need to summarise them yet.
