You know prepositions of time and place, but there are more!

Use by for transport:

I go to school by bike.

We travelled to Greece by plane. 

My parent go to work by car. 

Prepositions of instruments

Use with  for tools:

I fixed my bike with a screwdriver. 

He made a hole in my wall with a drill.

She killed her boyfriend with a chainsaw.

Preposition of connection

You can also use with to talk about two things or two people that are together:

I'm on holiday with my family.

She's going to the party with Mike. 

I'd like a sandwich with cheese and ham.

Prepositions of connection

Use of when something is part of someting else:

I was tired by the end of the day.

He broke the window of my car .

The secret of this game is that you can't ever win.

The highlight of the show is at the end. 

Prepositions of connection

Use to when two things are physically connected:

My game console is connected to the TV.

The computer isn't attached to the printer. 

My headphones aren't connected to my phone. 

The offices are wired to the building's alarm.

Prepositions of origin

Use from to state where someone/something comes from:

Camille comes from Paris.

He's new, he comes from another school. 

Has the train from Bristol arrived?

Use down to go towards a lower level:

She walked down the stairs.

He climbed down the ladder. 

He came down in the elevator.

Use across to talk about the other side:

He lives across from me.

There's a shop across the street.

Use around to move in a circular way:

We drove around the lake.

She walked around the building.

Use away from to leave a place:

As he drove away from her house, he felt sad.

They turned away from the fire. 

She ran away from home when she was 17.

She stepped into the kitchen.

She jumped into the sea.

Use off to move away from another object or space:

The men took their hats off. 

We got off the bus at Liverpool Street.

Use over to move above another object:

The birds flew over my head.

The plane flew over the Alps. 

He threw the ball over the fence.

inside a space:

We walked through the park.
