Pancake Day, or Shrove Tuesday, is a special day celebrated in many countries around the world. It is celebrated in English-speaking countries like the UK, Ireland, Australia and Canada. In France, the USA and other countries, it is called 'Mardi Gras' or 'Fat Tuesday'.

In the clip, Joel and Lia are in Borough Market, a very hip and happening "foody" area on the River Thames. It is very old dating back to the 12th century.  London's Borough Market serves as the location of the Leaky Cauldron in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. 
Joel and Lia refer to Pancake day and the Pancake race in the UK, but it is celebrated in many British speaking "Christian" countries around the world. Although like many or these traditions it started out as a Pagan festival. It is also celebrated in France and Germany.
