America or the United States?
These names for the country are often used interchangeably, but there is a difference: America refers to the entire continent, while the United States refers to the country. You cant call inhabitants of the US ‘United Statesions’. ‘Americans’ is the only good alternative, looking at the entire name ‘United States of America’. In Spanish though there is a word that literally translates to ‘United Statesions’: Estadounidense.
