Speaking in full sentences and politely.  
  • Why do you think it's important? 

  • How can you make the following sentences full and polite?
- ''Would you like a glass of water?'' 
   ''Yes'' 
- ''Can I borrow your pen?'' 

In England's culture it is the norm to speak politely, which isn't always the case in the Netherlands.

Practice for language village 
  • Conversation at a restaurant 

  • What: read the scenario and practice the conversation with a classmate. 
  • How: highlight any important information while reading. Then with a classmate decide who's going to be the waiter/waitress and who's going to be the guest. 
  • Help: I will be walking around to help, but you can ask your classmate for help too.  
  • Time: the conversation should be around 10 minutes. 
  • Outcome: You have practiced the conversation at a restaurant and you have spoken in full sentences and politely. 
  • Finished: swap roles.

  • flash tattoo or custom tattoo (flash = already made     custom = made by you)

  • (color) ink (substance that is used to make tattoos, often in black, but also in color)
