Gap-fill exercise

• What: Fill in the gaps.

• How: Fill in the gaps on your worksheet with one of the words above.
• Help: Look for the meaning in the text. If that doesn't work ask the teacher.
  
• Time: 10 minutes
• Outcome: You have used to context to fill in the correct word.
• Done: We continue with the next exercise.
  

Mr Sandman is planning a trip to Ibiza.

Mr. Sandman wants to go on a trip to Ibiza but he is not very familiar with travelling abroad. That’s why Mr. Sandman goes to the travel agency for advice. But before Mr. sandman goes to the travel agency he makes a list with requirements for his trip. During his travel he wants to stay in a hotel with a large pool in which he can swim. Throughout his trip, he wants to see the a bit of the island. However, Mr. Sandman is a little bit afraid to travel across the island by himself. That’s why he wanted to take part in a guided trip with a travel guide. When Mr. sandman is at the travel agency the travel agent says he needs a passport for his trip. The travel agent offers him an all-inclusive hotel with a pool. Mr. sandman is very satisfied with the service and doesn’t have any complain. On top of all, the travel agent offers him a discount for his trip, so Mr. sandman doesn’t have to pay everything. Mr. Sandman has to fill in his personal information and name and surname, and than the trip is booked.

Wordlist

• What: Look up the meaning of the words
• How: Translate the words to Dutch. You may use a dictionary. First try to find them yourself, than discuss with your neighbor and at last we will discuss with eachother.
  
• Help: Dictionary and neighbor.
• Time: 5 minutes individual, 5 minutes discussion with neighbor.
• Outcome: you know the meaning of the words on the list.
• Done: We continue with the next exercise.
  

30 seconds

• What: Describe the words.
• How: make groups of four with pairs of two within them. Every group will get cards with words on it. Try to describe the word without mentioning it! The team that guesses the word can go again, until the 30 seconds are over.
  
• Help: The wordlist you just made.
• Time: 10 minutes
• Outcome: you know how to describe the words.
• Done: Rounding off
  

The fair

• Read the assignment carefully!

• Create groups of six.

• Decide on a country.
