Will/Shall: wordt gebruikt voor beloftes en voorspellingen. Ook wordt will vaak gebruikt in combinatie met een voorwaarde.
Example: Shall we go out for dinner?
                     It will rain.
                     I won't be late next time.

To be going to: wordt gebruikt voor plannen in de toekomst. Er zijn nog geen echte afspraken gemaakt.
Example: We're going out for dinner. (But we haven't decided when.)
                     I'm going to visit my grandma. (But I haven't decided when.)
