How to recognize pop music!

Hello everyone! Welcome to our webquest about body percussion and pop music. You will come across some explanations about the topic. After this you will use the newly learnt information to answer some questions. Good luck!

What comes to mind when you think about pop music?

Pop music is short for popular music. Pop music is music made by professional musicians. Musicians are people that make music. Pop music almost always has a recognizable tune. 

Make sure to take a good look at the websites you will see. These will help you answer the questions. 

Take a look at this website! This website is all about body percussion. With body percussion you can easily create your own pop song, without needing any instruments. Afterwards you will answer some questions.

Body percussion is making music with just your body. Using your voice is not allowed. You are also not allowed to use instruments or other things such as tables or bottles.

Body percussion is using your body to make music. If you are singing you are making music with your body, but it doesn't count as body percussion. Body percussion is more for instrumental sounds.

It is not impossible to use orchestra instruments, like the cello in a pop song, but it is not common. A cello is more used in classical music.

The trumpet!

The flute, the saxophone and the clarinet are all woodwinds instruments. The trumpett is a brass instrument. 

This instrument is played by blowing into a mouthpiece.

This instrument is played using a bow. 

This instrument is a pitched percussion instrument that can play different notes. 

This instrument is one of the lowest sounding members of the brass family.
