The present tense of the passive is formed by the present tense of be ( am, is ,are) + past participle (voltooid werkwoord)

What is the correct passive sentence?
The guards rescued them.

1. They are rescued.
2. They were rescued ( by the guards)

He must check the car.

What is the correct passive sentence?
