  • Gustav Stresemann takes action: He convinces France to leave the Rhur + he destroys the old, worthless money and replaces it with a new currency.
  • He also agrees to the Dawes Plan.
  • He signs the Locarno pact: Germany agrees to the boundaries set in the Treaty of Versailles

  • ....Until 1929.
  •  The Wall street crash happened in the U.S, which caused the Great Depression.
  • Poverty arose in the U.S. (Hoovervilles) but other countries were hit hard as well...especially Germany.
