What is a script?

A script is a written version of a play or movie. If you're auditioning for a movie, you'll get the script to practice a scene or two. Script comes from the Latin scrībĕre, meaning "to write". A script is the complete (written) elaboration of a story. A script is a manual for filmmakers.

What is in a script?

A script spells out how the picture will look, what the characters say and what they do. So in a script, you describe all the visible and audible things that matter to the story.

After you have described the story in detail. (screenplay) you are going to turn that story into a script.

A script is a document that comprises setting, characters and action, dialogue, and stage directions for movies, TV shows, and stage plays.

What is included in a Script

A Setting  is the time and place of a story.  It can be suggested by weather, clothing, culture, buildings, etc. In screenwriting, setting is written into the slugline of a scene heading.

Characters and Action (sometimes called "screen direction") and dialogue. The action is written in the present tense and is limited to what can be heard or seen by the audience, for example descriptions of settings, character movements, or sound effects.

Dialogue (what the characters say to each other), stage directions and instructions to the actors and director.

What is a montage?  The term "montage" is defined as the process or technique of selecting, editing, and piecing together separate sections of film to form a continuous whole.

Within a screenplay, the montage is a compilation of short scenes or moments — usually with little to no dialogue — that are grouped together to convey a passage of time quickly while communicating necessary visuals and moments within that condensed timeline.

Example of a montage -  A character or group of characters are in a single location, and you want or need to convey their passage of time there.

Example:

One of the best and most iconic examples is the shopping scene in Pretty Woman. Edward is taking Vivian shopping. The scene is meant to convey a fun moment of this call girl experiencing being pampered through trying on and buying luxury clothes that she could never have afforded. It is a moment that is the antithesis of an earlier scene where a luxury shopping store rejected her because of the way she was dressed.

You are going to write a script (in word) from a Film or series that you enjoy.  Ensure you have added everything for the producer to re-enact the scene.  Hand in your script  including the film series clip via Its Learning. 

You are going to write a script voor your murder mystery that you also do with Fleur in Getekend ontwerp.
