Als je wijst naar mensen of dingen die dichtbij zijn, dan gebruik je this (enkelvoud) en these (meervoud).

Example:

Look at this table.

Look at these books.

Als je wijst naar mensen of dingen die verder weg zijn, gebruik je that (enkelvoud) of those (meervoud).

Example:

Look at that car.

Look at those trees.

Grammar

In het Nederlands kun je zeggen: ‘die van mij’, ‘die van jou’, enz. Of je zegt: ‘de mijne’ of 'mijn'. 

In het Engels gebruik je hiervoor de woorden uit de tabel van de volgende dia. Je moet deze overnemen in je schrift.

Het bezittelijk voornaamwoord wordt zelfstandig gebruikt. Dat wil zeggen dat er niets achter staat.
