What is the Passive Voice?
The passive voice is formed by using a form of the verb 'to be' with the past participle of the main verb.

Purpose of Using Passive Voice
- focusing on the action rather than the doer.
Television is watched by millions worldwide.
- emphasizing the object of the action.
Football is played worldwide
-we don't know who did it
A man was killed last night.

Forming the Passive Voice
Passive voice: Subject + to be + past participle + by + doer (optional) > The cake is baked by Mary. 
- vorm van be: am / are / is / was / were / being / be, soms met hulpwerkwoord als can / will / are / have / had
- in de passive hebben we nooit do/did/does!
- past participle: - ed vorm / derde rijtje > baked / bought
