Dear Sir / Madam,

 

I read your advertisement on the Interpal website and I am really interested in writing with people from other countries.

My name is Ellen de Jong and I am a sixteen years old. I live in Driehuizen, which is a small village in The Netherlands. I am in secondary school and I also have a part-time job. I work as a waitress in a restaurant in our neighbourhood. I really like that work and sometimes I meet foreign people there too. They tell me about their own countries and cultures and it's so interesting. I have become eager to learn more, so I would really like to write with someone from another country.

I have even prepared a few questions. What does a normal weekday look like for you? How do you spend your free time? What are the best and the worst things about your country?

What do you think, are they good questions? Well, I can hardly wait to get in touch with a pen pal.
