Kenmerken Sprookjes
Plaats & tijd worden vaag beschreven want dit zou de fantasie belemmeren.

Personages symboliseren goed of kwaad.

Zit vol met fantasie, magische elementen/ bovennatuurlijke zaken en/of bijgeloof. Dit kunnen magische wezens, mensen,
 dingen of dieren zijn.
 Magisch kan zowel positief (een elfje) als negatief (een heks) zijn.

Taalgebruik: Het taalgebruik is eenvoudig maar dat wil niet zeggen dat sprookjes kinderachtige verhalen zijn.

Levensles: Het goede wordt beloond en het kwade bestraft.

Heeft vaak een vrolijk einde, met een boodschap of oplossing van een probleem.

Characteristics Short Storie 
Kenmerken Kort Verhaal
Er zijn weinig personages, meestal 1 tot 3.

De karakters zijn ‘plat’; ze worden niet uitgewerkt, geen uitgebreide psychologische beschrijvingen.

Het verhaal speelt zich af in een korte tijd, in één ruimte en op één plaats.

Er wordt minimale achtergrondinformatie gegeven bijv. over de ruimte waar of het tijdperk waarin het verhaal zich afspeelt.

Er is één verhaallijn.

Het einde komt plotseling en geeft het verhaal een onverwachte wending (twist).
