A force is a physical property which can alter up to

three effects.

• It can change the shape of an object.
• It can change the speed of an object.
• It can change the direction of the speed of an object.

There are many types of forces. The type of force has the name of how the force came to be. We also add the
initial of the type to the symbol in subscript.

Spring force, it's a force exerted by a spring.

A couple common ones are:

-gravitational force

-friction force

-applied force

Air resistance force

Gravity force

Spring force

magnetic force

Normal force

Tension force

There are two categories of forces.

Forces that work on contact and forces

that can work over a distance.
contact forces and non-contact forces

example:

Adhesive force only works on contact.

Magnetic force on the other hand can work over a distance.
