Adverbs
  • Bijwoorden geven eigenlijk meer informatie over een ander woord. Soms geven ze aan hoe vaak iets gebeurt (bv. never), waar iemand is (bv. outside), op welke manier iets gebeurt (bv. quickly) etc.
  • De meeste adverbs vertrekken van een bijvoeglijk naamwoord en voegen daar -ly aan toe:
  • quick - snel                quickly - snel
  • Slow - langzaam      slowly - langzaam

Adverbs of frequenty
  • Deze woorden geven aan hoe vaak iets gebeurt.
  • often, rarely, never, always, frequently, usually, never, ever
  • Place in a sentence:
  • In front of the verb (werkwoord)
              She always works until 9 o’clock.
  • After a form of to be (am, are, is, was, were)
                  She is never late.

Betrekkelijke voornaamwoorden
  • verbindt twee zinnen met elkaar
  • Het boek wordt prachtig + Ik schrijf dat boek
  • Het boek dat ik schrijf, wordt prachtig

  • Verwijzen terug naar een eerder genoemd woord
  • Verbinden twee zinsdelen aan elkaar
