Assignment 1

Read through the words/phrases that you see on the next slide. You have seen this document in earlier lessons. You will be asked to make sentences in English with some of these words.

Statement: Testing new medicine on animals is right/wrong. Choose if you are for or against this statement. Then write a sentence in English using the following words/phrases with your viewpoint in mind.  Look up the words if you're not sure what they mean or how to use them. Hand in your sentences on the next slide.

Choose one of the opening statements below. Then write three arguments stating why you agree or disagree with the statement. Start each argument with words like 'firstly, secondly...' and try to use other persuasive writing  vocabulary from the next page.  Use the internet if you need to find some arguments (but put them in your own words!). Write your three arguments (in English) on Slide 16.

1. Vaccinations for corona should be mandatory (verplicht)

2. Schools are too dependent on technology
