Wat weet je nog over de present simple?

Present Simple

Wordt gebruikt om te praten over facts (=feiten), habits (=gewoontes) & things that happen regularly (=dingen die met regelmaat gebeuren).
 

Ex.
I like my friends
We often arrive early
They look great

Gebruik de stam + (s)

I walk

he/she/it walks

Soms moet je bij he/she/it -es achter het werkwoord plakken in plaats van -s.

Dit doe je bij do/go en werkwoorden die eindigen met een s-geluid

 (-s, -sh, -x, -ch)

VB:

do - does

Present Simple

Eindigt een werkwoord met -y? Maak hier -ies van ipv -s.

Staat er een klinker (a, e, i, o, u) voor de y? Dan plak je er alleen een -s achter.

Stappenplan

1. Gaat het om een he/she/it?

nee = gebruik de stam

2. Ja? eindigt het werkwoord met een -y of een s geluid? 

nee = plak er een -s achter

s- geluid = plak er een -es achter. 

y = plak er een -s achter tenzij de letter voor de y een a, i, o, e of u is. Dan maak je er -ies van. 

En ontkenningen en vragen dan?

Bij een ontkenning gebruik je don't/doesn't + stam.

I don't like spinach.

He doesn't like spinach.

Bij een vraag gebruik je do/does + onderwerp + stam

Do you like spinach?

Does he like spinach?

Possessive (bezit)

namen, mensen en dieren enkelvoud

meervouden die niet op een s eindigen

Als een naam eindigt met een s  dan gebruik je OOK de regel 'enkelvoud'

I like Tara's hair.
