Grammar: Prefixes and Suffixes

Prefixes:

dis- =  means to treat with contempt (minachting)/opposite of – disrespect

ir- = means not – irrelevant
il-  = means not – illegitimate
im- = means not – impossible

Suffixes:

-ment = noun form of a proces – achievement

- ness = state, quality or condition of  - kindness

- ed = past tense - walked

These are not in Stepping Stones but will be on the test!!!
