Aims

After this week's lesson you should be able to:

- tell something about your course, your (future) job and your hobbies.

- tell something about a holiday.

- use much/ many in questions.

Grammar: (un)countable nouns

Nouns: people, things, places, activities, ideas, feelings.

a tourist, a postcard, a museum, shopping, information, love

Countable nouns: things we can count. 1 tourist > 20 tourists

 Uncountable nouns: things we can't count by using numbers.    

 1 milk  > 2 milks                   1 glass of milk > 2 glasses of milk

Uncountable nouns

-food and drink: bread, butter, meat, tea, coffee, milk, pasta, salt

- materials: water, oil, air, metal, cotton, wood, plastic,paper

-school subjects and languages: art, music, English, Spanish

- ideas and feelings: education, work, advice, love, fun, advice

- activities: shopping, cycling, swimming

- groups of similar things: furniture, luggage, money

much and many in questions

- Much is used with uncountable nouns.

              How much sleep did you get?

             Did you get much information?

- Many is used with countable nouns.

            How many clubs are there?

            Are there many rental cars available?
