Three lessons in a row
- Learn what the different key elements of fairy tales/ folk tales are, and can recognize them in a text
- Learn about the importance of fairy tales/folk tales (their function and the morals) and mention the moral lesson of at least one fairy tale
- Can rewrite the ending of a fairy tale with the past simple and irregular verbs

Ultimate goal:
Your ultimate goal is to learn more about the fairy tale genre. For this, you are going to make a document that has to includes the following:

- Your name
- The fairy tale you chose 
- A list of the elements of the tale and how they appear in your story
- A rewritten ending of the fairy tale ( with proper use of the past simple and irregular verbs)

A fairytale is a written down folktale that uses magic and fantasy, it starts with the sentence: 'once upon a time' and always takes place in an unknown land and time

Every fairytale has a few elements:
  • It starts with: 'once upon a time'  
  • Archetypes: A hero, a villain, a witch, a fairy, stepmother, king...
  • A quest/task/desire 
  • A conflict
  • A moral lesson 
  • There is an element of magic/a transformation

But there is more: 
  • A fairytale is always fiction (land we do not know, time we do not know) 
  • The lead character gets help through a magical object, a sidekick, or even a villain
  • the number 3 (three fairies, three tasks, three brothers) 
  • Written in past tense

First task:
-Go to storyberries.com and choose 1 fairy tale from the categories: children 7-12 years old, 10 minutes. 

- Read one of the tales + answer the questions at the end 
- Make a list with the fairy tale elements and how they appear in the story
- If you have time left; brainstorm
