The people cared a lot about working hard, being respectable, family and religion.

During this  lesson we'll learn more about the people of the Victorian era and what their lives looked like.

Buying all the items you needed meant trips to multiple different stores. There were no supermarkets!

Activity

In pairs: decide in what kind of shops you could buy the following items from back in Victorian times.

You have 3 minutes to decide. Remember that supermarkets only started to be around in the 1920's.

- 1 Pint of milk

- A dozen eggs

- A stamp

- A loaf of bread

- 400 grams of chicken

- 1 kg potatoes

200 grams of fish

Final assignments: Simulise

Task 1: Create a diary entry in one day in the life of a poor,  little Victorian child and THEN write a diary entry for a day in your life: COMPARE it to your life today. (around 100 words)

Task 2: write a short reflection about the Little Victorian workshop. Include:

Who did you play, (which role) ? Would you have liked to have played a different role? 

Could you understand the actors? Did you find it difficult to understand them?

Did you enjoy the workshop? ( around 100 words)
