• De Past Simple gebruik je voor handelingen of gewoontes die in het verleden hebben plaatsgevonden en die nu helemaal afgelopen zijn. 
• Basic rule: hele ww + -ed (worked, walked)
• Pronunciation

Past simple ''uitzonderingen''

• ww eindigen op -y = ied (married, carried)
• ww eindigen op -e = -d (baked, hated, loved)
• ww eindigen op -c = -ked (panicked)
• ww die kort zijn, één klinker in zich hebben en waarbij maar één klemtoon mogelijk is, schrijf je met een extra laatste medeklinker voor -ed: (swapped, snapped) 
• ww die eindigen op een l, met één klinker ervoor krijgen een extra l (travelled)
