Which time do we call the Present Simple?

Present Simple - what?

• Feit: ''You like tea.''
• Gewoonten: ''She plays tennis every Tuesday.'' 
• Regelmatigheden: ''We often eat pizza on Saturdays.''

How?

SHIT-regel: Bij he/she/it voegen wij een -s toe achter het hele werkwoord → anders gewoon de stam 

Exceptions?

• WW die eindigen op -y: fly/flies
• WW die eindigen op -o: go/goes
• WW die eindigen op -sis klank: catch/catches

Present Continuous - what?

De duurvorm in het Engels. Het vindt NU plaats en is een tijdje aan de gang

How?

Een vorm van to be + -ing achter de stam.

• ''He is laughing at the moment.''
• ''We are doing English right now.''
• '' I am currently cycling to school.''

Exceptions?

• WW die eindigen op -e: -e verdwijnt, -ing erachter plakken (dance/dancing)
• WW die eindigen op -c: -k erbij, -ing erachter (panic/panicking)
• WW die eindigen op -l met klinker ervoor: -l verdubbelt, -ing erachter plakken (travel/travelling)

Adverbs of time - what?

• Geven een moment in de tijd aan (verleden/heden/toekomst)
• Je vindt het door te vragen wanneer?
  

Voorbeelden zijn: last week, three days ago, yesterday

How?

The Passive - what?

De Passive is de lijdende vorm

Wat is belangrijker dan wie

•  Active: Ariana Grande sings Positions.
  
•  Passive: Positions is sung by Ariana Grande.

•  Active: I watched the new movie Fantasy Island.
  
•  Passive: The new movie Fantasy Island was watched (by me).
  

The Passive - how?

1. Zoek het lijdend voorwerp in de active zin - wie/wat + onderwerp + gezegde?

2. Zet het vooraan in de passive zin

3. Zoek de persoonsvorm + alle andere werkwoorden

4. Bepaal de tijd volgens het schema → vorm van to be + voltooid deelwoord
