1. I will help you tomorrow.

Objects with a future - Game

1. You are going to form groups of 4 and choose 1 writer

2. You will receive 3 words. You are going to write down as many things that you can think of that can happen to it in the future.   

3. Time: 8 minutes

4. The group that has come up with the most 

possible things will be the winner. 

Future Tense

Future Tense

1.  for something scheduled: present simple future

2. for an offer, a promise or a prediction: will 

3.  for plans that are not yet organised: going to 

4.  for arranged plans: am + ing =present continuous future

You can look it up on page 150 of your Book A.

1. Present Simple Future

Vorm: tegenwoordige tijd = The training starts at 6 pm.

Wanneer? 

Als het gaat om tijden volgens een vast schema, zoals 

aankomst- en vertrektijden, openings- en sluitingstijden, 

begin- en eindtijden.

The concert ..... (to end) at half past seven.

Wanneer? 

- bij beloftes of besluiten

- als je iets aanbiedt

- aankondigingen

- voorspellingen waarvoor je GEEN bewijs hebt. 

Examples

1. iets aanbieden= We will help you with the dishes.
2. beloftes= I will call Patrick tomorrow. I promise! 
3. aankondigingen = The concert will start in 5 minutes.
4. voorspelling waarvoor je GEEN bewijs hebt. = Alicia will become a teacher.

Vorm: am/are/is + going to + hele werkwoord.

Wanneer? 

1. iemand die iets in de toekomst van plan is (intentie)
2. voorspelling waar je WEL bewijs voor hebt.

1. We are going to visit Newcastle tomorrow

2. Look at the sky. It is going to rain tonight.

3.  I think he is going to kill me
(er staat een man met mes voor me)

4. Present continuous future

Vorm: am/are/is (not) + ww + ing

Wanneer? Afspraken in de nabije toekomst waarvan de plaats en/of tijd al vast staat.

Voorbeeld: I am meeting my brother at five o'clock.

2. Keep using the future tense!
