Slide 1 - Diapositive

The plan
- Future; Will, to be going to, present simple and the present continuous.
- Do two exercises of unit 6 lesson 4

Slide 2 - Diapositive

Lesson goals
  1. I know how to talk about the future using the forms of "To be going to + Verb"
  2. I know the difference between will/shall and be going to

Slide 3 - Diapositive

Future

Slide 4 - Diapositive

Will and Shall
Both are used to talk about the future.
But we use them differently.

I/you/he/she/it/we/they will

De vorm van 'will' verandert dus niet.
Ontkennend: will not
Vragend: Will you/I/etc. ?

Slide 5 - Diapositive

Shall
Shall is a bit weird.

Shall we go to the cinema?
Nooit: Shall you go to the cinema?
Wel: Will you go to the cinema?

Slide 6 - Diapositive

Be going to
Yes, there is another one.
Also used to talk about the future.

I am going to
You are going to
etc.

I am going to watch a movie.

Slide 7 - Diapositive

The difference
The only difference is when you use it. So write that down.
1. Will
I will go buy some.
* Om aan te geven dat iets in de toekomst gaat gebeuren: It will rain tomorrow.
*Bij een wens, veronderstelling, belofte, aanbod, verzoek of voorspelling: We promise we will be on time.

Slide 8 - Diapositive

Difference
2. Shall
Shall I make you some tea?
What shall we do?

3. be going to
