Slide 1 - Vidéo

Unit 3 The circulatory system
welcome, you''ll get 10 minutes to study the Heart in silence (so no talking, only learning the parts of the heart)
timer
10:00

Slide 2 - Diapositive

Slide 3 - Diapositive

Slide 4 - Vidéo

Red blood cells
small round discs,
no nucleus
red pigment: haemoglobin absorb and release oxygen

Slide 5 - Diapositive

3.1 Blood
Blood transports everything your body need
              (heat, nutrients, oxygen, waste products)
Blood contains:
- blood plasma (Proteins- fibrinogen for clotting blood,
         water,                    carbon dioxide
         oxygen                  waste products
         nutrients

Slide 6 - Diapositive

white blood cells
do not have a fixed shape
do have a nucleus
destroy pathogens

Slide 7 - Diapositive

platelets
fragments of cells that have broken up
- Clotting when the blood is outside the vessels
Trombosis- clottering of blood in the vessel

Slide 8 - Diapositive

Slide 9 - Vidéo

3.2 Blood circulation

Slide 10 - Diapositive

Slide 11 - Diapositive

Pulmonary circulation
Red=O2
Blue=CO2
(absorb 02 / release CO2)
Pulmonary circulation
Right side heart
lungs
Left side heart

Slide 12 - Diapositive

systemic circulation
Release O2 to every living cell (respiration)
absorb CO2

Left side heart
- every organ
right side heart

Slide 13 - Diapositive

Resperatory system and Circulatory system

Slide 14 - Diapositive

3.4 Blood vessels (later 3.3)
3 types of blood vessels
arterie, capillarie, vein

Slide 15 - Diapositive

Artery
From heart to organs
(red) transport O2
walls are:
    - thick, firm, elastic
High blood pressure

Slide 16 - Diapositive

Capillaries
Release O2 into organs
Absorb Co2 into bloodstream

- one cell layer tick walls
- white bloodcells can go between the cells into the tissue

Slide 17 - Diapositive

Slide 18 - Vidéo

Veins
Transport CO2 from organs to the heart
- low bloodpressure
       thinner, less elastic
Includes valves
- The blood can flow in 1 direction

Slide 19 - Diapositive

3.3 The heart

Slide 20 - Diapositive

the heart is part of the systemic circulation.
It needs O2 (respiration) the coronary arteries provide O2 to the heart.
The coronary veins brings CO2 back to the heart

Slide 21 - Diapositive

the heart

Slide 22 - Diapositive

coronary artery, capillaries, coronary vein

Slide 23 - Diapositive

pulmonary circulation /septum,  / systemic circulation

Slide 24 - Diapositive

valves

Slide 25 - Diapositive

Slide 26 - Diapositive

Cardiac cycle - 70 times a minute= heart rate
